As we are coming up on the anniversary of his death (January 7, 1943), this post will honor a man who came up with some of the most unique application of vibration for his time,
Nikola Tesla. His creation of the “
Earthquake Machine” and use of vibratory tables to relieve
Samuel Clemens from constipation (It’s true. I read it on the internet.), will be hard to match innovations. However, on reflecting on 2013, I want to quickly highlight two of our customer’s applications of our vibrators that stood out as unique and noteworthy:
The first application came from a very famous institution. I won’t use names here, but most people are familiar with the brand name domicile due to it’s relationship with a publication that rhymes with “Grayboy.” In the fall, we received a request for two of our
1125 VMS air piston vibrator units for use in the annual Haunted Mansion Halloween party. The vibrators were attached to the bottom side of a bench in order to provide a shock to unsuspecting party goers that might take a seat. While we were hopeful to get some pictures of use at the actual party, the crew there was nice enough to send the pic below showing the install:
The second application is not so famous…yet. Just last month, we received a knock on the door from a local dentist. I can’t explain too much regarding his anticipated use, other than to say that he is in research and development mode for a device requiring high frequency vibration for use with patients in his chair. Our
CVT-P-1pneumatic turbine vibrator seemed to be a great fit for his current mode, due to its clean construction and operation, high-frequency and low noise levels. We hope the local doc goes gangbusters with his idea, as it will mark the first application we are aware of in a medical device setting.
