Cleveland Vibrator Company & Customer Service: If You “Talk the Talk”, You Must “Walk the Walk”

Like a lot of companies we talk a lot about customer service and going the extra mile when particular situations arise. Last week we had just one of those situations involving one of our larger RE 80-6 Rotary Electric Vibrators. The customer was in Texas and had a vibrator go down on a large de-watering screener. Fortunately, they had followed our suggestion and purchased a spare backup drive. They now wanted to order a replacement for that one but we had just recently sold all of our stock in that size to one customer. The drives are used on a critical piece of production equipment  and could ill afford having a second drive go down.

With no spare available, we looked at up-sizing but mounting bolt centers would be a problem. We looked at different RPM  motors with same bolt centers but after consulting with our equipment “GURU” I was told we would lose half  the stroke in screening the material by going this route. It was then suggested to contact the folks who recently purchased all of our RE 80-6 stock and see if we could buy back one or two units. They were agreeable to do this and we came in early the next morning and took our company truck to pickup two drives. The reason for picking up two drives is, in our opinion, when you lose the first drive on a piece of vibratory equipment  fitted with two drives that the chances are pretty good you could lose the second drive in a short time. Murphy’s Law for sure applied here for as we prepared the one drive for truck shipment our customer called changing it to door to door airfreight. The second drive had just went down. Our Plant Manager along with the shipping department made this happen and unit shipped that afternoon. Even with a ship to and billing change request after it left here the 670 pound vibrator arrived at it’s destination on time. Our customer was very pleased at Cleveland Vibrator going the extra mile to take care of his needs. Along with that they purchased the  second drive plus are sending RE 80-6 units back to Cleveland Vibrator for a no charge repair evaluation. They had even asked to quote a larger RE 110-6 Rotary Electric Vibrator for a larger screener.

There is no doubt in my mind that good customer service brings you repeat business. One thing is for sure in this instance, “THE CLEVELAND VIBRATOR COMPANY” not only talked the talk but walked the walk.
