If you are in the truck and trailer industry servicing dry bulk materials, you know how much of a headache unloading materials like grain products, DDG, aggregates, and road salt can be when it sticks to the inside of your end dump or hopper bottom trailer. So, to ease the stress of these material flow problems, The Cleveland Vibrator Company introduced our 12 VDC electric-powered vibrators, the MG Truck and Trailer Vibrators, which are designed to handle tough material flow challenges and eliminate sticking material for any load size.
What common industries and applications use our MG Truck and Trailer Vibrators?
While working with our customer, Quick-Fill Sandbagger, they asked about installing our DC/MG Truck and Trailer Vibrators on their quick-fill units. After speaking with our team about which force and size is best for their application, they invested in the MG-200 for their pre-fill business on their own Quick Fill Sandbagger. Following installation, they now fill their bags with sand faster and safer. They even recommend the same unit to their customers! To see an example, you can watch these units in action in the video below:
Snow and ice is another industry we frequently come across for this model. When applied in this industry, it is common to install vibrators on salt hoppers on the back of snow plow trucks. The vibrators shake the hopper wall and break free the clumping and sticking salt. The salt can then flow to the spreader, preventing any material hang-ups. Our MG Truck and Trailer Vibrators offer many options suitable for low-temperature applications and can stand up to the environmental elements. Other industries and applications that also utilize a DC/MG Truck and Trailer Vibrator are:
- Mobile Concrete Trucks
- Fertilizer Trailers & Spreaders
- Dump Beds Hauling Aggregate
- Grain & DDG Hopper Bottoms
- Waste Management
- Biomass Management
Simply stated, MG Truck and Trailer Vibrators are great for applications with an electric hook-up, larger load applications such as hopper bottom material unloading, belly dumps, side dumps and dump bodies, and truck and trailer setups that require time and labor to unload bulk materials.
What MG Truck and Trailer Vibrator options are available for your application?
Now that you know where these units can be found, we’ll discuss the options we have available. We have models ranging from 80 lbf all the way up to 3500 lbf. The technical specifications, such as temp ratings, duty cycles, and amp draws, change for each model.
The Small Load family
This series consists of two sizes, MG-80 and MG-200. Both of these models are continuous duty-rated vibrators designed for a wide range of temperatures. The operational temperature ranges from -25F to 125F for the MG-80 and -25F to 100F for the MG-200. This allows for continuous use even in harsh conditions.
The MG-80 and MG-200 models are commonly found on salt hoppers in the snow and ice industry or on fertilizer spreader machines.
The Medium Load family
The medium load family consists of three sizes, MG-400, MG-800, and MG-1200. These models are rated for continuous duty and can handle up to 110F.
The MG-400 models are common in the mobile mixer concrete truck industry. These vibrators are frequently installed on sand and aggregate bins on the truck and then turned on to unload at the job site to mix the materials.
Meanwhile, MG-800 models are commonly used on fertilizer trailers and spreaders, and MG-1200 units are often installed on dump bed trucks that are usually less than 20 feet long. These are typically for hauling rock, limestone, asphalt, RAP, and similar materials for the aggregate and concrete industries.
The Large Load family
This series consists of a single size, MG-3500. While these models are not continuous duty rated, they are rated for 1 min on and 6 min off cycles. They can be used in -4F to 122F environments.
The MG-3500 units can be found on 40-foot dump trailers and half rounds, commonly found in the biomass and waste management industries.
Overall, our MG Truck and Trailer Vibrators are a great mobile electric option. We also make them right here in Cleveland, Ohio!
